Today should have been the day Doublefracture left Barton Marina for the start of our 2010 cruise. Unfortunately we look like being here for the foreseeable future. Both Marlene and me have Hospital appointments on the 22nd March, Marlene for a lump on her shoulder and me a Hernia. Then I have to wait for a date for the operation. This would be bad enough but after the op it will take six week to get back to normal. Don't get me wrong, Barton Under Needwood is a very nice place, as good a place to be moored as any. the marina has good facilities and there are plenty of pubs to visit. There is a good bus service to Burton upon Trent and Lichfield, both good shopping centres. We were in Lichfield last Thursday and had a nice day looking round the cathedral and the shops. We will of course take a few days on the local canals starting this Wednesday if the weather holds. So keep watching. The pictures are just two of the four village pubs that do meals.
